How much will my property taxes increase?

The Franklin County Auditor site is a wealth of information about your property and taxes.  On the Home Page do a Search for your property by Name or Address.

Once you are on the page for your home, Scroll down to find your Appraised Value and your Annual Taxes.  The Appraised value is NOT what your home will sell for if you put it on the market.

The left-hand menu is full of information.  If you click on Tax Distribution, you can see where your property taxes go. Almost 70% of property taxes go to the Schools.

There is also a Tax Calculator.  When you click on it you will see “See the annual cost of proposed tax levies.” Currently there is nothing on the website because the Levy has not been officially approved for the Ballot.  It is in the process.

What are the priorities of the School Board?

  • Spending taxpayer money to join a lawsuit to sue the State of Ohio to abolish Vouchers or Ed Choice Scholarships? UA School Board believes that no child should be able to use a Voucher to escape a failing school.  On 9/6/24, the District wrote a check for $12,854, on 8/7/25 they spent $13,340 and will spend about $13,262 this year to support a lawsuit to abolish vouchers in Ohio.  You can hear discussions at these Board meetings:

  •  Spent $9,847 for a Board Workshop to create the Board Policy and Norms

    • Why?  Because there is a Board member who won’t follow the norms

  • Paid  $748,000 on a house near Jones Middle School in February 2025

  •  Set aside $14,000,000 from the General Fund in 2025 To be used for Maintenance. If there is an additional $14,000,000 for maintenance in the General Fund, then why is the Operating Levy so large?  June 10, 2025 Board Meeting.  Discussion at minute 1:38:13
